can't beat it for the money, March 9, 2011 By This review is from: Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 DG HSM II Macro Zoom Lens for Pentax Digital SLR Cameras (Electronics) i purchased this lens as my "happy income tax return" present to myself and i'm very happy with it. i was using a 70-300 zoom lens that purple fringed like crazy. this sigma lens is wayyyy better, and i don't miss that extra 100mm on the long end at all. having f/2.8 through the whole zoom range is awesome. oh, and the autofocus... every lens i had up until now was a screwdrive model. most of them were reasonably quick, but the sigma HSM is a thing of beauty. it microadjusts must faster in low light. having this lens on my k-7 is wonderful for candid shots, as the combination is nearly silent.
i will warn you, this lens in a beast. i'm a 26 year old in good health and after walking with my camera and this lens around my neck for about 30 minutes, i was in pain. i expected this going into it, and you should too.

This is the one you want. I researched, studied, asked, weighed options.....and went with this one for my Pentax K20d. It's the bomb. Super fast, light enough for what it is, and super sharp. Only wish list was that the focus ring was smaller in width allowing for more width in the zoon ring...but that's super, super picky. Wish Pentax produced a lens that matched this one in this class (fast 2.8 super tele), but I couldn't imagine being happier. HSM works great.....better than on my Pentax 16-50 in that department.

Well made and easy to use. The only thing to watch out for is it will not autofocus with all of the pentax line. it only will auto focus withe the K20D, K10D, and the K200D. the other bodies do not support the hyper sonic motor (HSM).
